MISSION
The mission of PRTE is to facilitate the professional collaboration of reading professors in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in order to support each other’s research and practice as well as to monitor and to advocate for the certification standards of reading professionals and to influence those standards with current research and practice.

PURPOSE
The purposes of the council shall be to improve the preparation and continuing education of teachers of reading, provide a forum for debate and discussion of current issues regarding literacy instruction, promote mutual understanding and cooperation among literacy educators by facilitating communication among its members, stimulate research and disseminate significant investigations and to seek improved competence at all levels of literacy instruction.

During the KSRA conference, PRTE will host events on Monday, October 29th. Please see the schedule below and please rsvp if you plan to attend the luncheon. We are looking forward to these exciting events!
Annual PRTE Session at KSRA Conference

11:45-12:45 PRTE Fall Meeting lunch – bring your boxed lunch (included with registration) with you

1-2 featured speaker speaker Rita Bean (Preparing for ILA/SPA Reports using the Newly Revised ILA standards)

2:15-3:15 Masters Paper Award Presentation research roundtable discussion

4:30-6:00 PRTE wine/cheese reception

6:00- KSRA dinner with registration

All session will be held in the “Senate Suite” – next to general session areas past the restrooms

We cannot accept RSVPS for non-members.
